Christmas

Christmas is my favourite time of year :)
Christmas is the one day of the year when I get to see all of my family, everyone is happy and it is just a lot of fun.This year was particularly special as I got to have my Christmas dinner at my grandparents with all of that side of the family. It was mental but it was us and I loved every minute.
I also enjoy my boxing day dinner at my mum's best friends. They are part of our family in my opinion and we all get along well and enjoy a great dinner. One of the best things is my boyfriend gets to come along which I love as it shows he is accepted. Her youngest son is also only 4 which is great fun as he still believes in the magic that is Christmas and Santa. This year we played with table football and with a jack in the box its memories I never want to forget.
The sales are also a great part of Christmas as I have now finally got the dress I love from Joe Browns reduced from £50 to £20. That is the bargain I have been waiting for.

Accept

Just accepted my place at university.
I'm excited but also a little nervous. Part of me wonders what I would have got from the other universities but then it doesn't really matter and now someone else can get the places.
I can't believe I have actually done it.
I've gotten into uni !!

12 Days Before Christmas

Usually, we are quite traditional when it comes to putting up the Christmas tree and decorations we are quite traditional and do it twelve days before Christmas. I remind my mum of this yesterday and she made the impulse decision to do it today while we were at home.
It always makes me excited when we put the decorations up, I get the rush and feel all giddy. Mum always puts up on the Christmas CD and we all help do our bit, Mum and I do decorations around the house while dad and my sister put the tree up and put lights on. Then the tree gets decorated. My favourite decoration is a frosted class polar bear with three glass ice cubes, we put it behind a blue light on the tree and it looks really frosty and amazing.

Every year we always look back at the tree and admire it. It looks cheerful with all the colours and all the decorations have a story behind them. I don't like the tree's that have a theme, like white or blue. The seem to plain and posh. Our Christmas tree will be a memory I hope I always have because it is full of history and happy memories.

Uni

I just got my first acceptance for Uni, an unconditional to the place and course I want !!
I am soo excited
I thought  I was going to have to wait months to find out but now the weight is gone because I know what I am doing next year.
I cannot stop smiling :D :D :D
All this years stress doesn't matter any more, I can relax and enjoy it.
Soo Happy :D

Joe Browns

Joe Browns is one of my favourite shops, however it is far to expensive. My current love it a really pretty dress that I think is beautiful and would look great in but I can't afford it. I will continue to keep torturing myself by looking at it to see if the price goes down. Hopefully I will be able to afford it soon.

Etsy is this awesome website my friend found. It is full off some cool, unique and vintage things. I have a massive love for notebooks, I always have and found some really beautiful ones on it. These are a couple of my favourites;

Snow Damage

As much as I love the snow, and not going to school, today the reality has come back to me. Walking up the steps to my house was terrifying as they have frozen over and even walking to work anywhere that was covered was becoming ice. They have also started clearing more roads and paths and the way I walk to work has been was blocked by a very large pile of snow as that is where they decided to put all the snow they cleared.
The worst damage however is in the back garden. The snow on the garage roof is really deep and the gutter totally froze. As a result the gutter and half of the bits that hold it up collapsed today. The nice snow looks a mess, which is gutting, but its going to be a pain getting it fixed and paying for it and the path dad cleared is now covered in fallen snow.

Icicles

The sever winter weather may be a pain to some but for me it is far from it. A break from school is exactly what I needed. It has also made the everything look cool and pretty.

 

I have never seen snow so deep and it looks like we could be at one of the poles. I haven't seen the ground in days. One of the most amazing things it has caused is icicles. I have never seen them for real before but there are loads on the houses across the road. They are hanging off the plants and there are a couple that hang from the gutter to the bottom of the window, that makes them as long as I am tall !!

Snow Letter

Since Friday night we have had an almost constant snow fall. Woke up on Saturday morning to the sound of hail on the window and looked out onto a street blanketed with snow. It was beautiful. It is very early for snow but it is great, just hope we get a day off school for it. 

On the way home from work, I was imagining my future, about my boyfriend being my husband and us having kids. I was thinking how great it would be seeing our kids seeing snow for the first time, how excited they would be, wrapping them up warm in hats and gloves and their smiles and giggles. 

I also had the idea for this picture; 

It made me smile and I knew it would make my Chris smile. So I made him the message in the snow and sent it to him. It made him smile and that made me happy and it reminded me that it is the simple things are the most beautiful and in the end that mean the most. I think that is something we all need to remember.

Paperazzi

Yesterday, I met Gordon Brown MP.
It was pretty cool to be honest.
I'm not sure what exactly I was expecting. I have met Jim Tolson MSP many times but never anyone like an ex-Prime Minister. He was really nice though. He was getting his picture taken with us so he shook all our hands and asked us what we wanted to do when we left school. Getting our picture taken was cool. There was so many camera's we did't know where to look and all the flashing made it feel like we were being 'pap'd' like celebrities. We didn't manage to make out if he had a fake eye or which one it was but he had body guards which was cool too see. Hopefully we will get our picture in the papers in the next week just need to look out for it.

It Only Takes a Minute to Make a Decision

My friend wrote on facebook today; 

'it only takes a minute to make a decision that will change the rest of your life, but it will take a lifetime to determine if that decision was the right one'

I can't decide if I agree with this or not.
Simple decisions maybe, but often we don't see how they alter our lives. The big ones however, for me, take a long time to decide. I mull over them for ages and often put them off. In the end I still spent ages thinking about them no matter what decision I made. 
Maybe this is just me, because I am indecisive and over think things but it I believe that in most cases, it takes longer than a minute to make a decision that will change the rest of your life. 

Find the Positive in Today

I am trying to find the positive in today.
It is very difficult.
I am getting no free periods because of assembly and social ed. I don't think this afternoon is going to be much fun if I'm honest but I have no choice.
Hopefully some thing will come along and make the day a whole lot better.
Maybe swimming tonight might make up for it.

Films ARE Better the Second Time Around

Well, Harry Potter was better the second time,

However I did jump more, which is weird, considering I knew what was going to happen 

The person sitting behind me did not help though 

she wouldn't sit still

You are over the initial excitement and can take more in.

Tonight I am going to see Harry Potter 7 again.
I seen it yesterday and loved it.
Now I'm going to test out the theory that it will be better second time round.
Can't wait :D

Money

Money is the root of all problems, if you have it or not.
Those who don't have it, want it.
Those who have it are unhappy.

Me, I fall into the first category. There are so many things that money stops us from doing, simple things like sweets or a coffee to more necessary things like driving lessons and days out with the family. These are the reasons we get up early and go to bed late, so that we can work hard to earn the money for the things we desire. It's the reason I was up at 8 this morning to go to work to earn the money for my families Christmas presents and why I will spend my Saturday doing homework so in the future I can provide for my own family.

However, for me, there is more to life than money. Its about being greatful for what we have in life, no matter how much money we have. As long as we are surrounded by love, we have the greatest gift created.
